Leah heads up KXCI’s underwriting with grace and finesse, working with wonderful business and organizations to help nurture the impact of independent radio in our community through underwriting support. She’s also a passionate music fan with a specific fondness for well-executed covers.

“I spend a lot of music time with BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge,” says Leah. “There is something very refreshing to hear a song you know, but sung in a different way and owned by a new artist. To me, being able to take a known song and make it your own is the mark of true talent, and then to be able to perform it live with no enhancements or editing, that’s the real deal.”

1. Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with Scottish singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini. I could have filled a list with just him, but decided to keep it to one. He covers Chvrches “Recover.”

2. I got the chance to see Hozier live this year and it was a phenomenal show! He is incredibly talented. Here he covers Arctic Monkey’s “Do I want to Know.”

3. The Arctic Monkeys cover Drake’s “Just Hold On.”

4. Kings of Leon cover Robyn’s “Dancing on my Own.”  To be honest I have never heard the original of this song, but love the way they cover it.

5. Lonely the Brave covers Cyndi Lauper’s classic “Time after Time.”

6. Rizzle Kicks cover Lana Del Rey’s “Summer time Sadness.”

7. 7. Ella Eyre covers Paolo Nutini’s “Funk my Life Up” (okay, he made the list twice).

8. Thirty Seconds to Mars covers Rhianna’s “Stay.”

9. London Grammar covers La Roux’s “In for the Kill.”

10. Chet Faker covers Blackstreet’s “No Diggity.”
