Nature Connects, Art With LEGO Bricks

Thirteen sculptures, including a hanging Corn Spider, Galapagos Tortoise and Monarch Butterfly all made out of LEGO bricks will be on display throughout the Gardens. The sculptures are built with over a half of a million LEGO bricks, some weighing more than 500 pounds! In addition to the sculpture display, special events and activities celebrating LEGOs are scheduled throughout the four month long exhibit. The LEGO® Movie

Presented by Cox Communications Sept. 25, Oct. 30, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Included with admission Join us for Friday Family Movie Nights! To celebrate Nature Connects the LEGO Movie will be shown monthly during the exhibit and guests can see each LEGO Brick sculpture lit up after dark. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie will begin at sundown. Popcorn and beverages will be available for purchase or bring your own picnic.

Butterfly Magic, A Tropical Wonderland in Tucson!

October means the start of Butterfly Magic in the Cox Butterfly and Orchid Pavilion. Butterfly Magic is Tucson’s only tropical butterfly greenhouse and one of the most diverse in the country. DIY Desert Design

The Garden’s trained docents will provide gardeners with the information and inspiration needed to plan a personal, beautiful and successful garden for the Tucson region. Sonoran Desert Ecology

Jeff Babson, of Sky Island Tours, brings to life rich ecology of the Sonoran Desert’s flora and fauna by illuminating the sometimes surprising connections between organisms in nature. No plant or animal is an island unto itself—each depends on other organisms for its survival and underlying it all, are weather, soil, and other physical factors that comprise the landscape.
