WAAKI by Victor Masayesva (Hopi) – Documentary Film Screening

SUPPORT

Join us at the Premiere Screening of the new documentary WAAKI (Sanctuary), from noted filmmaker/photographer Victor Masayesva (Hopi). The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Victor Masayesva and filmmaker and indigenous rights activist, Mariano Estrada Aguilar (Tzeltal), a collaborator on the film.

Many indigenous people, including the Hopi, Nahua and Maya, have a special connection to corn. This collaboratively-made film celebrates that connection and the dialogue possible from this experience.

The Hanson FilmTV Institute presents the screening in partnership with the UA School of Anthropology.
