The University of Arizona's 13th Annual Social Justice Symposium

You’re invited to come and celebrate Public Health Awareness Week at the 13th Annual Social Justice Symposium!

The award-winning Social Justice Symposium is a day-long event held on Friday, April 5th at
the University of Arizona campus in Tucson to engage faculty, students, community members,
and health professionals in a dialogue to raise awareness of how social issues affect health.

This year’s theme is “Bridges and Barriers: Migration and Public Health,” exploring a myriad of
topics including immigration, children of the border and family separation, refugee camp
violence, gender issues, economic and social resilience, and narratives. We seek to gain insight
into both individual and community perspectives in these areas to engage in conversations and
foster action.

The Symposium is run entirely by students at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public
Health at the University of Arizona.
