Tucson Folk Festival Songwriting Competition Concert

Kick-off the 37th Annual Tucson Folk Festival with the Stefan George Memorial Songwriting Competition at Club Congress Plaza. The Stefan George Memorial Songwriting Competition is a beloved part of the festival each year – a chance for established and emerging songwriters to share new insights, new songs inspired by the times, and play for an audience that is hanging on every lyric. Each year, dozens of entrants compete for 10 spots in the finalist showcase. The winner of this showcase receives a coveted evening slot at the Saturday night festival.

The Tucson Folk Festival is a three-day celebration of American Folk Music traditions and all the wonderful variations, from Bluegrass to Blues, and Mariachi to Zydeco! This family-friendly, free-to-the-public festival is held in some of the most historic sections of Downtown Tucson and features five stages of music, hundreds of performers, an arts and crafts market, family activities, and free music workshops.
The Tucson Folk Festival is produced by the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association (TKMA) and the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA).
