Therapeutic Wellness Walks

SUPPORT

The healing benefits of strolling a Japanese garden, such as reductions in anxiety and depression, are well-supported by scientific research. The Stroll for Well-Being program provides the opportunity for self-guided healing in a nurturing and safe environment.
The Stroll for Well-Being is a structured program requiring a month-long commitment at minimum. The program begins with a 1-2 hour group orientation with a professional guide well-versed in grief counseling and alternative medicine. Each week participants complete two independent, 50 minute walks with the aid of a guidebook. This is an active process of self-reflection rather than a meditation, engaging with symbolic features such as the Circle of Life.
The program fee is $150 and includes the book, a three-month membership to the Gardens, and special after-hours garden access. Space is limited to 15 per session. Introductory sessions begin October 30.
