Every seed has a story. The seeds that were carried from Africa and the Caribbean by enslaved peoples, and the fruits and vegetables harvested from them, were instrumental in the story of African American survival and independence. These crops would eventually become the dietary staples of not just the African American family, but of the entire American South.
Join us in this special workshop as we share the stories of the African American Heritage Seed Collection and discuss how to find and grow these special varieties in your desert garden.
