Tepary Bean Community Planting

SUPPORT

“Ba:wĭ have sustained the Tohono O’odham for generations. Grown in the blistering hot summer of the Sonoran Desert, Ba:wĭ are the most heat and drought tolerant crops in the world. In Tohono O’odham legend, the Milky Way is made up of white tepary beans scattered across the sky.” – From I’itoi’s Garden

Come help San Xavier Coop staff plant tepary beans!

Long sleeves, pants, closed toed shoes, and hat recommended. Bring a refillable water bottle. Water refill stations provided. Simple breakfast provided after planting.
