Join WMG’s River Restoration Biologist Trevor Hare and Project Manager Madeline Ryder in a second phase of an erosion control project to continue to slow and sink stormwater flows and protect an amazing mesquite bosque along Tanque Verde Creek. We will be building one-rock dams (grade control structures) and media lunas (flow slowing and spreading rock structures), and planting pollinator plants, but we will also take time to enjoy the landscape and learn about how we decide the where, what, why and how of our restoration program. After the workshop we can all walk down to Tanque Verde Creek and splash around in its groundwater supported flow! Intel Corporation has provided funding for this Project to enhance infiltration to protect a shallow groundwater supported riparian area.
