Salvador Duran & Adrian Perez
Born in the city of Cananea, Sonora, Salvador Duran has embodied what a true artist is, reflected in the passion he emits during his musical performances. Salvador Duran is one of Tucson’s brightest gems and his spirit radiates love. He is a firm believer that culture nourishes the human spirit, and without it, we lose our compassion and connection to humanity, which is a noticeable characteristic in his captivating performances.
Born in El Paso, Texas on the borderline with Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Adrian Perez has influences that range from Chicano culture and the shared traditional customs that are unique to the border regions. Adrian has studied from masters of Latin American folk harp and has been an ambassador of Mexican folk harp, taking his music from stages like the Hollywood Bowl and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, to music festivals such as South by Southwest (Austin, TX), Governer’s Ball (New York City, NY) and Les Escales (St. Nazaire, France). Adrian’s goal is to connect and expose the traditions and art form of Mexican folk harp to larger and diverse audiences so it may continue to flourish.
Adrian & Salvador have joined their talents and musical knowledge that blends the many traditional styles of Mexico and beyond. Their combined performance captivates audiences far and wide, creating an appreciation for the true essence of Mexican folk music.
