Join us for a FREE Word of Mouth screening of the acclaimed comedy/drama, Saint Frances! This screening will take place in Screen 3, so seating is limited. Saint Frances opens for a regular engagement at The Loft Cinema on Friday, March 13.
Flailing thirty-four-year-old Bridget (Kelly O’Sullivan, who also penned the screenplay) is a college dropout who finally catches a break when she lands a much-needed job as nanny to the rowdy but irresistible six-year-old Frances (Ramona Edith-Williams) – trouble is, she’s uncomfortable around kids, unable to filter her thoughts and preoccupied with her own problems, so she doesn’t exactly scream “nanny material.”
But an unwanted pregnancy introduces an unexpected complication. Just as Bridget decides to end the pregnancy, she begins to clash with the obstinate Frances and struggles to navigate growing tensions between Frances’ moms. Amidst her tempestuous personal relationships, a reluctant friendship with Frances emerges, and Bridget contends with the inevitable joys and sorrows of becoming a part of someone else’s family. Winner of the SXSW Film Festival Audience Award, Saint Frances is both a heartening, funny story of an unlikely friendship and an illuminating look into girlhood, womanhood, and motherhood.
