Prison Art Exhibition

SUPPORT

Art from people incarcerated in Arizona is on display February 1-26, 2020. The display will be in the wooden towers on the first floor and the wall by the bookstore.

Arizona currently incarcerates over 42,000 people. We found incarcerated people through our reference service who wanted a venue to display their art so we invited folks to submit art for an exhibition at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library. We received 20 pieces of art.

Open House and Reception | February 22, 2020

Join us for a reception and viewing party at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library February 22, from 2pm-4pm. Send a message directly to an artist at our feedback table and hear about prisons in Arizona and the origin of the Library’s prison art exhibition. For friends, family and the public.

Snacks and light refreshments will be served.
