Migrant Quilt Project Fundraiser

SUPPORT
AZ

Please join Tedoro (Ted) Ramirez and Santa Pachita Tuesday night, March 13th 5 PM at La Cocina to raise money for the Migrant Quilt Project. Seventeen quilts are traveling the United States in 2018-2019, and the funds raised provide transportation to speakers so they can attend the exhibits and share migrant stories, data, artifacts, and policies in order to illuminate the humanitarian crisis in the borderlands.

The Migrant Quilt Project is a grassroots, collaborative effort of artists, quiltmakers, and activists to express compassion for migrants from Mexico and Central America who died in the Southern Arizona deserts on their way to create better lives for themselves and their families. They create a quilt every year to honor and memorialize the loss of lives in the Tucson Sector.
