Manufacturing Consent with Noam Chomsky

SUPPORT
Arizona

Professor Noam Chomsky will be presented the Lofty Achievement Award before the screening.
This award-winning documentary showcases Chomsky’s message of how government and big media businesses cooperate to produce an effective propaganda machine in order to manipulate public opinion.
The key examples featured for this analysis are the simultaneous events of the massive coverage of the communist atrocities of Khmer Rouge regime of Cambodia and the suppression of news surrounding the U.S.-supported Indonesian invasion and subjugation of East Timor. (Dir. by Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick, USA, 1992, 167 min. Not Rated)
The Lofty Achievement Award is presented each year at the Loft Film Fest to an individual whose career and body of work have significantly contributed to the world of cinema, and who continues to inspire, entertain and enlighten audiences. This year, the Loft Film Fest is proud to present the 2017 Lofty Achievement Award to Noam Chomsky.
