Monday, January 22, 7pm
The impact of Leonard Bernstein’s family life, Jewish heritage and religious and cultural awareness on his music and his life. Join us for a panel discussion with: Jaime Bernstein, daughter of Leonard Bernstein; George Hanson, Tucson Desert Song Festival Director and long-time assistant of Leonard Bernstein; Dr. Matthew Mugmon, Professor of Music at UA and former Leonard Bernstein Scholar with the New York Philharmonic; Dr. Daniel Asia, Professor of Music at UA and head of the composition department; Dr. Gil Ribak, Professor of American Jewish History and Culture at UA. Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” will be performed by the Marana High School Chorus under the direction of Sarah Ross.
