On Friday, August 4th, the 10th Annual KXCI House Rockin’ Blues Review returns to El Casino Ballroom for an evening with Blackcat Zydeco. Dwight Carrier popularly known as “The Black Cat” has become one of this era’s most exciting Zydeco accordionists. He is deeply rooted in the “Carrier” family tradition, where music has always been a passion and is always a part of their family’s pastime. He embraces both his family tradition as well as his Cajun Creole Culture. Dwight has always had a unique style that infuses his zydeco, blues, country, and R&B influences.
KXCI’s Blues Review host Marty Kool is an enthusiastic fan, and he knew Blackcat Zydeco would be perfect for the legendary House Rockin’ Blues Review party at El Casino Ballroom. Blackcat Zydeco will perform two sets and is sure to bring everyone to the dance floor.
Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the show starts at 7:30 pm. Advance general admission tickets are $20 for KXCI Members and $25 in advance for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at all Bookmans locations, online at KXCI.org, and at the door. All tickets will be $30 at the door. Award-winning BBQ caterer Allyn Haynes will create a unique menu for the night. Dinners will be available for purchase.
All proceeds support KXCI’s mission to connect the communities of Tucson and Southern Arizona to each other and to the world with informative, engaging, and creative community-based programming. KXCI’s Blues Review host Marty Kool will emcee the show.
KXCI Executive Director Elva De La Torre welcomes all to attend, “We’re excited to continue our 40th-anniversary celebrations at El Casino Ballroom partying to the sounds of Blackcat Zydeco. Grab your friends and join us for a special night of great music, food, and community. See you there!”
