The Flamenco art form, through its purity, rhythms and intensity strikes a visceral chord for audiences of all ages, all cultures and with all degrees of experience with the arts. Carlota Santana co-founded the company in 1983 with the mission of using Flamenco not only as an art form but as a way to build bridges between cultures. Experiencing a Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana performance, the audience clearly feels the diverse influences which have shaped this exuberant form of dance and music, including contributions from Gypsy, Judaic, Arabic, Spanish and Latino culture. Carlota Santana has been designated “The Keeper Of Flamenco” by Dance Magazine and received La Cruz De la Orden al Merito Civil from the Government of Spain in recognition of her commitment to creating new works and developing young artists.
