Welcome to the Comunidade: Your Afro-Latin Diversity Festival. Comunidade means “Community” in Portuguese, and a call to unite the talented artists and enthusiasts of African and Afro-Latin culture in the greater Tucson area for a weekend of celebration. What do we mean by Afro-Latin? We mean from Latin America, with significant African ancestry. This festival will include open, public classes in several Afro-Latin forms such as Zouk dance, Cuban Salsa dance, and the Afro-Brazilian martial art of Capoeira. We will also be offering yoga, Kizomba, and Afro-Fusion dance. The festival will feature local performers of Afro-House dance, other performers are TBA. The location will be at Movement Culture at 435 9th st. downtown. A section of the street will be blocked off for vendors and food trucks, so the public can enjoy the music and dancing right outside of the studio. We encourage everyone to come out and celebrate with us. Whether you are a dancer, musician, martial-artist, or lover of arts and culture. We hope to see you there!
