Understanding galaxies in 3D

Speaker: Dr. Jorge Barrera-Ballesteros, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

A galaxy is made of billions of stars, gas, dust, and dark matter. They are also the bricks
that the universe is made of. In this talk I will describe how we use a novel observational
technique to see galaxies in a ‘3D’ fashion. I will also highlight why these observations are
essential for us in order to have a better understanding on how galaxies form and evolve.

(There will not be an English translation of the talk. For English-language Astronomy Lectures,
