Amos Lee is making a triumphant return to Tucson with an epic show that will rival his last visit in 2013 when he recorded Live from the Artist’s Den. The acclaimed singer-songwriter came back to the city where he recorded Mission Bell.
This is how one reviewer put it:
“For music lovers of all shapes, colors and tastes out there, (Amos Lee’s Live from the Artist’s Den at Fox Tucson Theatre) is a visual and aural feast to consume. Amos Lee, his very talented band and a number of his friends, like local heroes Calexico, do not disappoint in this concert of a show they performed at the newly renovated historic theatre in Tucson, Arizona. The “Artists Den” has surpassed itself in producing this event of an Amos Lee and Band concert. Besides being one of the finest songwriters out there today, Amos Lee’s sultry yet powerful vocals are delightfully accompanied by a multi-talented band. The Fox Theatre renovated from the original built in either the 20’s or 30’s creates an ambiance unsurpassed in performances.”
With his laid-back vocal delivery and earthy acoustic songwriting, Amos Lee draws inspiration from soul music, contemporary jazz, and ’70s folk artists like James Taylor, Neil Young, John Prine and Bill Withers. and invited a number of his friends along, including local heroes Calexico
An American singer-songwriter whose musical style encompasses multiple styles, Lee will perform songs from his music library including music from his #1 Billboard album, Mission Bell and his newest works from My New Moon (being released in August of this year).
Lee’s big break-though occurred when Norah Jones asked him to open for her 2004 tour. Lee has gone on to tour with such legends as Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Van Morrison, John Prine, Adele and The Zac Brown Band – just to name a few!
