
Join Friends of Tucson’s Birthplace and renowned local chef, Wendy Garcia of Tumerico, for a culinary exploration of Tucson’s unique heritage foods. Be a part of a meal will be prepared from Mission Garden’s Sonoran Desert adapted orchards and vegetable gardens. Learn about the over 4,000 years of continuous agricultural cultivation along the Santa Cruz River floodplain and the region’s ecological and cultural history, in a presentation by Jesús García. Jesús is the founder of the Kino Heritage Fruit Trees Project, and Conservation Research and Education Specialist at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Enjoy musical entertainment by Tucson’s own multi-award winning classical guitarist, Dr. Eduardo M. Costa.
