Please join us for the third presentation in our collaborative series. KXCI is excited to partner with the University of Arizona’s Institute for LGBT Studies on four presentations highlighting LGBTQ+ artists, musicians, and musical eras.
About the presentation: This presentation will cover LGBTQ+ and the music of Hollywood’s Golden Age. During the 1940s/50s there was much privacy & shame for LGBTQ+ performers. This presentation will tell the stories of these singers, lyricists, and composers from this era.
About the presenter: Shann Oliver, https://www.shannoliver.com/Host of Moonlight Saving Time which airs Fridays 12am to 3am . Moonlight Saving Time (MoonST) spins a whimsical night of vintage pop, kinky swing, and show tunes galore. This isn’t your average retro show – MoonST sprinkles in offbeat covers, rare Jazz Age gems, and current Broadway hits.
