That’s Not Relevant is Spork Press’ first and long-awaited book of art by Tucson mogul Isiah Toothtaker. That’s Not Relevant is a rap, tattoo, and pop culture inspired book of emoji art created by Toothtaker, 72 full-color topical and occasionally hilarious pages.
Joining the party are poets Joshua Marie Wilkinson and Zachary Schomburg, midway through their nationwide reading tour (including Pitchfork Music Fest, Newport Folk Festival, New York Poetry festival, and assorted backyards and house parties).
Isaiah Toothtaker is an artist, owner of the tattoo shop, Staring Without Caring, a rapper, and a two time felon from Tucson, Arizona. In 2014, Isaiah released NOTHING, an EP featuring production using only Nine Inch Nails samples to create the beats. Toothtaker is releasing his first book of art, That’s Not Relevant, published by Spork Press.
Joshua Marie Wilkinson’s recent books are Meadow Slasher, The Courier’s Archive & Hymnal, Swamp Isthmus, and Selenography (all from Black Ocean and Sidebrow Books). He lives in Tucson, where he edits The Volta and Letter Machine Editions and teaches poetry at the University of Arizona.
Zachary Schomburg is the author of The Man Suit; Scary, No Scary; Fjords Vol. I, The Book of Joshua (all from Black Ocean), and the chapbook from the Fjords (Spork Press). He lives in Portland, Oregon, where he runs Octopus Books and the Bad Blood Series.
