The American Medical Association published a report in June on the adverse health effects of artificial light. The report, titled ‘“Light Pollution: Adverse Health Effects of Nighttime Lighting“, is a compilation of other studies on the effects of artificial light and does not present new research by the AMA proper. The International Dark Sky Association, based in Tucson and with chapters all over the world, has championed protection of the night sky since 1988.
