PCC theatre arts presents The Laramie Project

Pima Community College Center for the Arts Black Box Theatre

LaramieProjectsmall

Pima Community College Theatre Arts presents THE LARAMIE PROJECT, by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project. Directed by Nancy Davis Booth. In 1998 University of Wyoming gay student Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, beaten and left to die tied to a fence in the outskirts of Laramie. He died 6 days later. The horrific event became a watershed moment in America challenging existing opinions and inspiring change. The play is a theatrical collage about the reaction of the town people, when in the spotlight of national media, rumors became myth in achingly soul-searching confusion.
