Aurora Foundation of Southern Arizona Logo Today’s guests are Founder and CEO of The Aurora Foundation of Southern Arizona  Dr. Stephanie Parker and Assistant Site Director of MiKid and Founder of the Daniel Moreno Awards- Susan Moreno.

The Aurora Foundation of Southern Arizona, Inc. is the only 501(c)(3) corporation in Southern Arizona that exclusively advocates for justice for all disabled people. AFSA, Inc. works to educate and influence policymakers to take positions on legislation that advance full inclusion, equity, and access for the largest and most marginalized minority group in our nation.

The Daniel Moreno Recovery Award was introduced in 2007 by Susan Moreno, after her son Daniel died by suicide while receiving treatment for schizophrenia. The Recovery Award recognizes local individuals that have inspired hope and who signify the determination and passion it takes to advocate, educate and support those living with mental illness as well as an individual that personally represents the path of recovery. The Daniel Moreno Award Dinner and Silent Auction takes place on Friday, October 4 at 6:30pm at Skyline Country Club. Tickets are $45/advance and $55 after September 24. Proceeds will benefit the Tucson office of miKID.
